A Downtown Detroit E-Session: The Engagement Session of Januari and Nika

Januari and Nika shared five years of friendship before taking the next step in their relationship. The pair quickly fell for each other, and when it came time for the proposal, Januari couldn't help but burst into tears of happiness. "I cried hard. I said 'yes' but didn’t hear anything," she jokes.

The pair had fun during their engagement session, but honored Januari's father's recent passing by wearing black. "Black represented my loss, but white represented the beauty in resolve, the land of renewed and everlasting life."
