Carolyn swiped right on Emma and it was an instant match. The couple went on a few dates, and they soon became inseparable! During a trip to Saugatuck, Michigan, the couple climbed Mt. Baldhead, but neither took advantage of the beautiful moment. After they returned to their Airbnb, Carolyn dropped to one knee to purpose. Emma said 'yes', then hurried to propose immediately after! Carolyn notes, “It was a great night and turned out to be a much better story than the romantic spot on the top of Mt. Baldhead.”
The couple knew they wanted a fall wedding and incorporated a full year into planning their day, but COVID-19 completely changed their wedding plans. After cutting their guest list in half, Carolyn and Emma worked to create a beautiful celebration in their backyard. “It turned out to be the best decision––we loved our wedding and the fact that we get to revisit our venue every day,” she says.
What we love
Emma’s children walked her down the aisle, making family the centerpiece in this ceremony. “This wasn’t just a wedding of two people, but the making of a new family,” Carolyn adds.
