Section House is a new venue in Sawyer, Michigan that opened in 2021. To show off their newly redesigned space, they reached out to Kelsey of White Dahlia Events to curate a beautiful style shoot. Kelsey shares, "I envisioned an upscale, modern event rich in unexpected, flaming color." In fact, Kelsey made it a challenge for herself to combine very rich colors without overwhelming the shoot.
This space helped inspire a unique and modern design. "The venue is a converted hardware store, something you don't see that often! Anyone in the wedding industry is thrilled to style for a unique wedding venue!" Kelsey gushes. "The industrial bones lend well to the black and white wood aesthetic, while also adding some drama and depth to the swankiest of affairs."
"So much of what you can accomplish in a shoot depends on what rentals are available to you! This group of companies was incredibly accommodating and their diverse offerings helped make the dream-work!" Kelsey raves. Every detail that was chosen for this event clearly brings Kelsey's idea to life. From the deep emerald linens to the dark glassware and even the gold accents, all the rental items accent the true rich, elegant beauty of this venue. A personal favorite, Burns Special Events, was one of the rental companies that helped breathe life into this style shoot!
Take a look at that beautiful bride and handsome groom! "What we wanted in a wedding dress was something luxurious with clean lines to draw out the striking floral," Kelsey explains. "This unique take on polka dots add class to what is an unmistakably sexy dress." The dress even has a vintage feel which blends beautifully with the venue. Despite the striking dark eye makeup, the bride's look was kept rather natural and simple. We also think the groom is dapper in that classic black tux from SuitShop!
Kelsey wanted the flowers to shine just as bright with all the colors of the shoot. "As black and white is the canvas this shoot was styled upon, we continued that theme with classic black and white anemone, black ti leaves, and Star of Bethlehem. Then a layering of opulent flowers including anthurium, pin cushion, and amaranths all in tantalizing rich color," Kelsey describes. We think all the floral details are stunning and love the way the bright flowers pop against the deep, rich décor, especially the flower elements on the cake!
The modern black and white invitation suite by The Lettering Grove is so sleek and mimics the aesthetic of the venue perfectly!
