This Detroit E-Session Features Color and Playful Hearts: The Engagement of Talisa and Jason

Jason and Talisa have known each other for 22 years, but it wasn't until 2013 that Jason asked her on a date. He served as their family realtor and always asked that a hello be passed on to Talisa (and it always was!). Five years after their first date, Jason proposed in a 360 degree rotating restaurant that overlooked the city of Toronto. "Jason had it all planned out. We were in Toronto to attend a Bruno Mars concert the following day. I had no idea!" Talisa shares.
 

Without input from Talisa, Jason picked out a beautiful princess-cut diamond with a halo that is surrounded by other gems. Talisa loves that it has plenty of sparkle and shine and that it came from Jason's heart. We think it looks amazing, especially with their formalwear. "I wanted outfits that expressed us!" Talisa explains. "Bold, playful and creative! As a couple we love color." That bright pink gown that Talisa is wearing pops right off the page in these images.
 

A friend referred the couple to their photographer, Tushona. "After seeing her work, I was hooked! No doubt I had to book her," Talisa raves. And Talisa would know best since she studied art! That love for getting creative inspired the location for this engagement session. They decided on the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) because it is playful and timeless just like Jason and Talisa are as a couple.
 

"We always imagined a sunset beach wedding," Talisa admits. And that is what they scheduled. There were many stressful nights for Talisa before their wedding, but she did all the planning herself. It ended up being the vision that she had imagined all along. We are so happy that they got the wedding that they dreamed of!
