Find Adventurous Love in This Ethereal Sedona, Arizona Styled Sunset Elopement

Heather Sherrill Photography had the idea to create a dramatic elopement to make the average Midwest bride rethink her wedding plans. Her vision for the shoot was to dream up an adventurous styled elopement to show off the beauty and the thrill of the canyons in Sedona, Arizona. To top it all off, the team managed to arrive at the valley in time to capture sunset photos for this ethereal shoot!
 

The dress was one of the biggest inspirations for the shoot. With the adventurous style, Heather knew she had to photograph it somewhere that matched the beauty and thrill it possessed. This flowy dress comes with removable sleeves and delicate details that elevate the airy nature of this shoot. We also love the way the bride's thick eyeliner makes her eyes pop and her gentle curls match the effortless movement of the dress. The groom's tux is a stunning contrast against the warm tones of the rocks!
 

Following this elopement trend was not as seamless as the team thought it would be. Getting to the location they wanted for the shoot proved  to be quite challenging. "It took forty-five minutes to an hour to get a 4x4 on a rough trail," Heather explains. Once they got to the destination, it was more windy than the team was expecting but that factor actually ended up enhancing some of the shots!
 

Even though Merry Go Round Rocks is not a traditional wedding venue, the team made it truly feel like it was. Our favorite part of the shoot are the shots where you can see down into the valley. It gives a thrilling feel to this adventurous wedding scene!
 

The color scheme for this shoot was curated to match the red rocks in Sedona. Using that as a jumping off point, the stationery designer was given full creative control and produced an amazing invitation suite. The floral details on the stationery as well as the soft reddish pink color is absolutely stunning and delicate just like this shoot!
