The vision for this shoot was to create a wedding scene that happened as the sun was setting and had plenty of luxurious details included. Beth Waterman Photography, the photographer (and planner, with her company Flora + Flame!), shares, "We wanted to invoke a sense of warmth, love and color into the overall vision. I can honestly say everything turned out exactly like I envisioned!" While the vision came together perfectly, the team did have to fight the unseasonal heat that overtook this late April style shoot. Luckily, the team was able to catch a reprieve from the hot weather by shooting later in the day!
Slightly inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz—which is a great color to reflect the sunset theme of this shoot—the team included so many peach details, especially in the flowers. Beth, owner of Flora + Flame, gushes, "We used a large variation of sunset tones of roses with Peach shimmer and Free Spirit roses (my personal favorite). We mixed those in with some varying textures of snapdragons and stock flower for an ultra fragrant mixture." We can only imagine how wonderful this ceremony space must have smelled! We also love how the team used a similar floral pattern to highlight that delicious, statue-inspired cake as they did as a backdrop in the ceremony space.
Much of this style shoot was actually based around the bride's beautiful dress! Since it was voluminous and airy, the creative team wanted something that was a bit over-the-top and out-of-the-box for this shoot. It's also a very modern style of dress, so the team needed to create a space that highlighted that feature. To complement the gown, the hairstylist decided to style the bride's hair in simple waves with a delicate braid since the dress was already so extravagant. The makeup artist also brought in sunset tones in her makeup. As for the non-traditional style of wedding, that was inspired by the couple. "Our couple also has a more edgy fashion sense so we wanted to go for a look that was a bit more outside the box than traditional," Beth explains. We think it turned out just perfect!
As for rentals, the team used mostly modern designs to fill the reception space. Of course, the tablescape features plenty of blooms as the centerpiece! It also included tons of luxurious and colorful items to reinforce the luxe sunset theme. Some of our favorite details are the unique pieces of glassware and the candles that both work to elevate the feel of this scene. The plates that the team chose could not be more perfect since they remind us of sun rays! We also love the choice of gold flatware to reflect the sun palette. Off-setting the bright colors with black chairs balanced the shoot while also giving a nod to the edginess of the couple.
Last but not least, lets talk about this amazing venue! Ivory Foundry Weddings & Events was an incredible place to host this style shoot. Aside from their new outdoor ceremony space that they chose to highlight, there are so many spaces around this venue that create memorable and unique photo opportunities. Some of our favorite photos are the ones taken of the outside of the venue with one-of-a-kind graffiti art, painted by Beth's husband Rich himself! No matter which space they were in, the team was able to bring in elements to tie every scene of this style shoot together beautifully.
