Ever dream of having your wedding in a castle? So did Ching from Design Quintessentials! When entering our 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest, she and Kelle of Flower Smith Studio decided they wanted to make a big statement with a European themed twist, after selecting 'European' from our predetermined themes! “When we got our okay from Castle Hall, we were thrilled because it fits the modern Castle (European) and bold colors,” gushes Ching.
The name for this style was “Castle Dream.” What better venue to have than one literally named Castle Hall? Ching says, “I think this venue fits perfectly as the venue exterior has a lot of castle-like style and design. The interior has lots of windows with natural light. It’s perfect for what we wanted.”
To follow the warm color themes in this shoot, the makeup artist used warm colors around the eyes, lips and cheeks. The effect was to give off a natural flush of skin. Ching notes, “The brides had naturally curly hair, so we used a wand to enhance their natural curls. I wanted to give a natural, romantic hairstyle. I also added a hairpiece for flavor. It best suited their facial features.”
The floral wall was a definite plus with this shoot. According to Ching, bold flower walls are a trend to look out for!
We love the regal vibes those blossoms give off. Ching says, “Our color palette was shades of red, pink, coral and orange so that’s what we went with on the flower and the color selection. Our vendor used a lot of garden roses based on the color palette for this shoot. We just wanted the pop of colors to make a bold statement.”
Even the cake is fit for a queen! When designing it, the team took inspiration from the florals but maintained a feeling of cleanness and openness that the venue showcased. The best of both worlds tied all together in one perfect shoot!
