2019 Style Shoot Design Contest Submission: A Dreamy European Ballerina Wedding

This graceful and glowing submission to our 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest stole our hearts. Hannah of Hannah Marchien Photography says that she was inspired by her three ballet-loving daughters to create a wedding with the same style of elegance. The shoot drew ideas from French weddings and used the Pantone Color of the Year, Living Coral, to craft a beautiful wedding fit for any ballerina!

 

The team wanted their ballet bride to have a seductive flair. They paired a corset top with a long, poofy skirt to make this vision come to life! “We actually selected a lingerie piece from Victoria’s Secret for the top,” Hannah reveals. “It paired so well together with the skirt!”

 

Hannah was at first unsure of how the color palette of slate blue, charcoal, blush and Living Coral would pair together, but she ended up being thrilled at the results. We love how the florals add a texturized look to these muted colors.

 

The venue's unique architecture was a large selling point to this shoot. Built in the early 1900s, Belle Isle Boat House is what Hannah believes is an undiscovered gem in downtown Detroit. She gushes, “The architecture reminded us of a European style which was exactly what we were going for!”

Some trends the team wanted to touch on were velvet linens, topiaries, gold foil on the cake, corset top dress and a watercolor invitation suite. This combination of unique styles is sure to make any wedding stand out!

 

We love the added touch of artisan French breads and rolls to the dinner table!
