This team of vendors played with the concept of "something old and something blue" for our 2024 Style Shoot Design Contest, sponsored by AAYS Event Rentals. Inspired by new blue goblets from one of the vendors, they wanted to focus on vintage yet simple items that brought in plenty of blue details as well as the Pantone Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz. With elegance and the color blue in mind, this team set out on a journey to bring their wedding shoot to life, using our theme of "Quiet Luxury".
Since the blue goblets were the inspiration for the shoot, they had to make an appearance throughout the setup, along with the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year. The tablescapes are some of the places where you can spot Peach Fuzz, literally! We love that the team not only used a few peach tablecloths but also real peaches to help bring the color into this shoot! The other tablescapes with the white linens are where we really see the elegance of this shoot, with porcelain dishes and stunning silverware. There are also plenty of vintage details in the decor that feel even more opulent while playing on the "Something Old" concept, while the additions of the wooden bowls and beautiful stone-like dishes offer a more understated natural elegance.
The florals are another spot where Peach Fuzz makes an appearance. To keep with the "Quiet Luxury" theme, the team used a lot of smaller blooms and simple vases to keep from overwhelming the shoot. As Brenda Pottinger, the photographer and one of the hosts of the shoot, shares, "The florist designed each little bud vase and then let us put them out at each table. That let us pick how concentrated the colors were in each area." As you can see, the florals on the long head table are similar to the ones used in the bridal arch, the sweetheart table has both candles and florals, and the guest tables each have a few simple blooms in the center, which makes each area its own space. The hanging greenery pieces from the venue help fill the space even more. We also love how they used florals to highlight that delicious cake!
Speaking of the venue, the team knew that this was going to be the perfect place to host their shoot. "We had worked with them before and knew once the greenhouse was available we had to do another photo shoot on their property. There were so many areas we didn’t have time to include the previous time," Brenda explains. We love how the greenhouse space helped the team bring their simple yet luxurious theme to life while also relating it back to nature. They even borrowed a few items from other areas of the venue and even the venue owner's home so the space fit their vision better!
To truly bring this style shoot to life, the team used two bride models. The first wore an A-line dress with plenty of lacy floral details to tie it back to the elegant flowers used in this shoot. We love that the team paired this bride with a groom with a blue and white floral tie! It's the perfect piece for the "Something Blue" theme of their shoot. The second model wore a more organic gown with flowy floral sleeves. Both brides were styled with natural and matte makeup and simple hair to keep with their "Quiet Luxury" theme.
