5 Things to Think Twice About Before You D.I.Y.
Jenna Nelson | March 8, 2016Don't get me wrong—I am the queen of the do-it-yourself trend. And at WeddingDay, we are huge proponents of the D.I.Y. movement and we especially love seeing brides who impressively collaborate with family, bridesmaids and friends to take on one wedding project after another.
A Stylized Wedding at Emerald Acres Wedding Barn
Jenna Nelson | March 3, 2016Emerald Acres Wedding Barn sounds just like the secret gem that it actually is. Located just north of Indianapolis, the 125-year barn was the perfect setting for the "organic elegance"-themed style shoot that Brooke Tichenor of savoir faire events was envisioning. The quiet countryside that surrounds the historic barn is what Brooke describes as both romantic and majestic. The style concept she was after was organic, yet elegant. "We wanted to showcase the natural beauty of the barn and the lovely surrounding landscapes; the 'elegance' component was incorporated using charming decorative accents (glowing white lanterns), vintage pieces (teal blue settee), and soft, lush flowers to enhance the authentic beauty of the venue," says Brooke.
The Wedding Story of Justin and Sarah Brandenberger
Jenna Nelson | March 3, 2016Although rustic-yet-glamorous barn weddings are all the rage right now (and we really wouldn't have it any other way!), we continue to see brides who put their own take on tradition.

Magical, Astronomy Inspired Shoot
Morgan Ellis | February 18, 2016Working as a wedding professional in Northern Indiana, we don't have beach weddings, forests to photograph in or mountains to explore with our bride and grooms like the rest of the world has. But because we're away from the big city lights and the busy roads, we have the stars. If you turn away from the night lights and look at the dark sky, a billion of glimmering lights that appear. The abandoned warehouse was a perfect location to showcase our love of the stars and our astronomy-inspired intimate wedding set up.
The Wedding Story of Kevin and Megan Boss
Jenna Nelson | February 17, 2016"I used to stare at him in the cafeteria (at work) for a year and a half before we ended up meeting face-to-face. It turns out not only was he the 'hot cafeteria guy,' but he was also my best friend's 'car pool guy.' It took us until this run-in encounter to figure out they were the same person.
The Wedding Story of Lucas and Alisha Wickersham
Jenna Nelson | February 10, 2016Lucas and Alisha began dating in college and later, survived a long-distance relationship for a few years; Lucas lived in Texas while Alisha was attending pharmacy school at Butler University in Indianapolis.
A Berry and Gold Style Shoot at Sundance Studio
Jenna Nelson | February 4, 2016When Brennigan of BG Photography Studios and Jessica of Jessica Smith Weddings set out to collaborate on a style shoot, they initially had a free-spirited, Bohemian concept in mind. Their original vision evolved as the elements came to life with an elaborate, rich color palette. As they developed their concept, they brought in the vendors who they felt confident could breathe life into their vision. When vendors like Marco Alexzondra of Marco Alexzondra Floral and Event Design and Amy Briske of Sundance Studio were brought into the fold, the style shoot became a Berry and Gold Sundance Wedding with brilliant elements of gold flatware, mismatched china and lush floral. The end result was a rustic-meets-vintage style shoot that was both elegant and chic.

Jenna Nelson | January 27, 2016Ethan and Lindsay learned one of the most important principles of a happy marriage pretty early on in their relationship—how to fight fairly. The couple actually met in high school debate class, so we have a feeling they know how to handle conflict!
The Wedding Story of Danny and Julie Rodts
Jenna Nelson | January 20, 2016Danny and Julie Rodts began their story the way all epic love stories start: with a romantic bike ride that ended in a pouring rainstorm.
