the vision

This captivating cover is all about the Bohemian style – from the sunset, the ethereal umbrellas hanging from the beams of the barn to the colorful textures used throughout. Photographer Holly Russell and her fantastic team of wedding pros created a magical and whimsical shoot perfect for today’s fun and relaxed bride.

the venue

The history and versatility of the Homestead 1835 lends itself to this rustic shoot. Still a working farm and residence, the property includes a granary, a renovated barn, a ceremony site and three acres of verdant grounds.

the hair & makeup

The makeup and hair were kept soft and fresh to focus on the model’s beautiful eyes. The Boho look came together with lots of false lashes and a dewy cream blush. Long, loose flowing curls with a center part highlighted the dramatic headpiece.

the gown

A mermaid gown with ivory satin underneath lace fit the Bohemian vibe like a glove. The headpieces selected were a mix of braided metal, quartz crystals, antiqued silver and a pewter leaf charm.

The Décor

The Bohemian/rustic theme with bold jewel tones and natural elements inspired the décor. An old barn door on wooden horses bathed in romantic candlelight became the sweetheart table.

the cake & sweets

Just a few of the tempting delectable treats: a lemon meringue tartlet, French almond macarons, lemon curd with fresh berries, and an attention-getting, semi-naked yellow butter cake.

the jewelry

The jewelry was an exotic mix of white and yellow gold surrounded by diamonds.

the floral

The bridal bouquet popped with color using a hand-tied cascade of antique green hydrangeas, peachy pink dahlias, white astilbe, cream garden roses and green hanging amaranthus with a seeded eucaplytus collar. The centerpieces were composed of antique green hydrangeas, viburnum, white astilbe, cream garden roses and red hanging amaranthus.
