When Parker's brother got married, he was able to meet Grayson for the first time, who was there as a guest of the bride. During setup, Parker and Grayson were both designated to hanging up string lights and they got to talking. Sophomore Grayson was was excited to be talking to a senior. "A few months after the wedding we began to talk everyday and started dating. The rest is history and I love to say, I married my high school sweetheart," Grayson gushes. Parker proposed at Grayson's parents farm with the help of Grayson's horse after he asked Grayson's sister to distract her for the evening with shopping!

Grayson had tried multiple stores and dress styles before landing on the one where she bought her dream dress. "I absolutely knew that I wanted to find a dress with sleeves on it," Grayson shares. "The dress I fell in love with did not have sleeves like I had wanted. Although, the seamstress mentioned she could order the same lace and create the dream sleeves I wanted!" The dress is boho chic with a beautiful faux belt on the bodice and delicate lace details on the sleeves.

"I started planning for our wedding right after the engagement. I started using Pinterest to my advantage and attended many bridal expos for inspiration," Grayson explains. Though their original date for their wedding was September of 2020, the COVID pandemic delayed it two years. This gave Parker and Grayson plenty of time to prepare. The color scheme Grayson landed on was mauve, dusty rose and burnt orange for their boho-styled wedding. AAYS Event Rentals helped them bring this theme to life before their eyes!

Given the two year period to allow them to plan, they were able to find excellent vendors who helped bring their dream day to life. Grayson and Parker decided to host their wedding at Grayson's parents' farm. Grayson raves, "Throughout my life I have always had all my parties at my parents' farm, between birthdays, my graduation and our engagement party. Parker and I found it fitting to be married here as well." Hosting their wedding at such an intimate venue, not just to their relationship but also to their guests, created a special day for everyone who attended.

What We Love

Grayson and Parker's friends and family were heavily involved in their big day from giving vendor recommendations to helping them celebrate in style. Grayson's uncle officiated the ceremony for the happy couple and made it more personalized to them as a couple. They also included their corgi, Rowdy, in their day by having him serve as the ring bearer. "My horse Cherokee, was out in the pasture eating grass during our ceremony. When I was walked down the aisle by my father, Cherokee decided to follow me down the white horse pasture fence. She walked the same time I did and stood in the corner, by herself, during the whole ceremony," Grayson says. Cherokee was Grayson's childhood horse, so this was a special moment for both of them!

Advice from the Couple

Grayson and Parker advise, "The best advice I can recommend to any future couples planning your wedding is to enjoy every single minute of planning for your big day. Your wedding day will go by so fast. During the day of your wedding, relax as much as you can and absorb everyone and everything around you. Be sure you have someone taking videos of your first looks and dances. You’ll appreciate those, I promise."
