In an effort to highlight bridal events beyond the actual wedding day, Kristen Mittlestedt, owner of Kristen Mittlestedt Photography, introduced a three-part style shoot that would emphasize the other aspects of planning a wedding: the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and the bridal brunch or shower. This particular phase of the project focused on the bridal shower. "The brunch was envisioned to be a very playful and chic moment between a bride and her bridesmaids," explains Kristen.

Although the weather took a turn for the worse with rain, clouds, and 40-degree temperatures, this brunch style shoot was flirty, romantic and radiated warmth!

Kristen selected The Shiloh in Fort Wayne, Indiana to set the scene for brunch. She explains that the vendor team wanted to show off the potential that the venue holds—especially the gazebo. "Light floods into the gazebo even on the gloomiest of days! says Kirsten. "The lakeside view was the perfect touch for the upscale chic vibe we were aiming for."

The venue set the tone for the color palette which included a blend of coral, gold, ivory and hints of mint to not only compliment The Shiloh, but to also introduce the feeling of summer into the setting. Femininity continued with Lopshire Flowers' arrangement of juliet garden roses, ivory hydrangea, pink spray roses, Free Spirit and Sahara roses, eucalyptus, dusty miller greenery and accents of hypernicum berries.

Steering clear of rustic themes, the vendor team set out to create a chic vibe throughout the venue, even though it has carried a rustic stereotype in the past. As mentioned the team was intent on showcasing the alternative themes that this versatile venue could bring to life. "The Shiloh has always been marketed as a rustic, barn type venue, so we wanted to shed a new chic light onto the place," explains Kristen. "By using gold geometrics, bright flowers, and boutique wardrobe, we managed a playful and modern brunch."

The stylized brunch beamed with romantic touches with rentals that included tables, linens, chairs, vases, flowers and china. The golden geometric pieces that hung from above added a modern touch.
