When Kalle's best friend started dating Ryan's best friend, it was only a matter of time before the two of them met. Once they started hanging out as a group in college, Kalle and Ryan felt sparks for each other. After a few years of dating, they decided to get married! And what better place to host an intimate ceremony than their own backyard? "We purchased our first home together the year before our wedding. Having our home be the venue for us to tie the knot felt like it best represented this chapter in our life," Kalle shares.

We absolutely love both of Kalle's unique dresses! "Lane, the first dress I cam across from this designer blew me away. I had never seen another dress like it," Kalle raves. "I did try on several dresses at my appointment but I knew going into it which one made me most excited and it ended up being 'the one'." The ceremony gown is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern with a very classic A-line silhouette for a blush-pink dress covered in colorful flowers! Her second dress is a short, white party dress with golden astrological details on it. Both gowns are gorgeous and so special!

Wedding planning wasn't necessarily smooth sailing for Kalle and Ryan. Kalle explains, "We knew we wanted a smaller wedding initially, however our plans changed many times. We started by finding venues and vendors we were interested in and worked with the dates they had available." They landed on an autumnal color scheme—because of their shared love of fall—which inspired their florals and attire!

What we love

Taking to heart the important part of a wedding day—the joining of two people—Kalle and Ryan did an amazing job at focusing their day on themselves while enjoying it with those they love most. "The day felt perfectly 'us'. From the small guest list of close family and friends to the venue being our home, it was a celebration of our lives in this moment," Kalle gushes. We love that they went off the beaten path to add plenty of unique details to their wedding to reflect them and their relationship!

Advice from the Couple

Kalle and Ryan advise, "Don’t be afraid to think outside the box! We started off by booking a traditional venue and ended getting married in our backyard. Your wedding doesn’t have to be any one thing. Create a day that will be the happiest and most enjoyable for you."
