The Vision
A colorful fall was the theme of this Grand Rapids style shoot. Our planner, Brittany Chesney of 1945 Event Co., staged two weddings to show that small and intimate weddings can be just as stunning as large ones with extravagant décor! “The natural fall elegance wedding was literally a dream come true,” Brittany gushes. “And using colorful fruits and veggies, a mix of metallics and rich florals, the jewel tone harvest theme was brought to life.”
The Decor
Both shoots were fall themed, but they each had their own color palette. The jewel-toned wedding was full of rich gemstone colors like purple and red with touches of yellows. On the other hand, the natural fall wedding was filled with warm fall colors like yellow, orange and brown. “Copper and Lace's items fit right in with the vision for this shoot,” Brittany says. The team also tried to utilize pumpkins, fall florals and wood accents with glassware and candles to bring in the elegant side of the shoot. Special Occasions' chairs and linens tied everything together in this stunning shoot, while the stationery and signage by Pretty Petal Papers accented each theme perfectly!
The Venue
Frugthaven Farm was the perfect locale for this shoot due to its multiple spaces all in one venue. “We showed how the venue can showcase two completely different size and style weddings in various locations on the farm,” Brittany explains. The spaces showcased were perfect for the themes selected. The jewel-toned shoot takes place in an open air tent with the sprawling field as a backdrop, which makes the celebration seem endless. Our team utilized the venue's smaller barn for the natural fall look, making the setup cozy and intimate!
The Looks
Our brides look absolutely gorgeous in both of their America’s Bride gowns! We love how both dresses not only tie to the themes of the shoot but also to each other. The floral lace detailing on the gowns exude elegance and blend w ith the floral décor in the shoot. The tuxedo from SuitShop is classic with a modern twist. Beauty by Ashleigh, Brittany Andring and Glammed by Samm styled our brides' hair and makeup in laid-back, but elegant styles, perfect for this autumn setting!
The Florals
Alex Nazar Floral curated the most stunning floral designs for our shoot! From the deeply colored flowers in the jewel-toned theme to the autumn flowers in the natural fall theme, the floral pieces are an integral part of this shoot. Each table, arch and bouquet is overflowing with flowers that bring each look together!
The Cake & Desserts
Two cakes from Sugar and Spice Bakeshop LLC were used to blend with the two visions Brittany had. The blue-frosted confection goes perfectly with the jewel-toned shoot. From the richly colored flowers at the top to the metallic section keeping the two tiers apart, this cake is pure elegance. The fall cake is a stunning burnt orange frosting that exposes its chocolate cake. And we are living for the flowers scattered around the cake! Each wedding also has various pastries that fit the theme and accompany the cakes beautifully.
