History in Color: Vintage Meets Modern at The Cyrus Place

Located in the heart of Lockerbie Square Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana, The Cyrus Place is a historic venue celebrated by its alluring architecture and extraordinary service. Here, couples are met with a romantic atmosphere captured in grandiose elements like the venue’s wooden, tray ceiling and crown molding. Owner Cyrus Jafari says, “Originally, the church itself was built in 1882 by German born architect D.A. Bohlen. Many years later, we believe our beautiful and historic building speaks for itself. We welcome potential clients, vendors and friends alike to tour our space and create custom weddings and events.”
 

 

For this Exclusive WeddingDay Style Shoot, Jessica Matson of Aisle Ready Events matched the boldness of the venue with a theme that would pull in adventurous components for modern couples. She says, “We wanted to do something that would be a little unexpected in the space, but still relatable for future brides. Our main goal was to show off the versatility of the space, and all the different ways it can be used.” Using the colorful stained glass found within The Cyrus Place as inspiration, the team curated a tropical and daring theme that paired elegantly alongside the historic venue.

To tie in the contemporary style, the design included a modern, lace gown from Beloved Brides, pink and green glassware and blooming florals expertly designed by Eufloric Events. Additionally, The Cyrus Place boasts extra spaces like a Bridal Suite and Man Cave which are sure to impress any bride and groom looking for a historic venue with a little extra character.
