This Holland Engagement is Filled with Laughter and Love: The Engagement of Holly and Will

After some encouragement from their friends, Holly and Will decided to give dating a try. They had known each other for a few years from leading small groups, so it went really well! "So many of our friends told us they knew we were so compatible and would become best friends," Holly shares. For Thanksgiving, they were separated to celebrate with their families who live on opposite sides of Michigan. However, Will surprised Holly by waiting for her in a gazebo in the park where her sisters convinced her to take a walk. There, he proposed!
 

"My ring is very special, not only to me, but to Will and his family," Holly explains. "The diamond in my ring used to be his great, great grandma’s and was passed down through his family." Holly became the fourth person to wear it after she said 'yes' to Will! We love the cushion halo that she picked to help highlight the special round diamond in the middle.
 

Being friends with a wedding planner has its perks since Holly's friend recommended their engagement and wedding photographer, Taylor Marie Photography, to them. Holly raves, "I love Taylor’s style and how personable she is with her couples! Even through our engagement session, she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and really photographed our love beautifully." For their engagement session, Holly and Will wanted to go to spots that meant a lot to them. They picked the park where he proposed, downtown Holland and the beach, where they spend much of their time.
 

Like many women, Holly has been dreaming about her wedding day since she was a little girl and saving ideas for it, too. "Now that I’m actually getting to plan it, there’s things that I’m changing about the style that I want while still being true to what I’ve been dreaming about," Holly says. "And as I got to know Will, I knew there were so many special songs, promises and little touches that will make our wedding unique to us that I want to include." With their longer engagement, Holly and Will have been able to enjoy the planning process. It's going smoothly so far, and they can't wait to get married!
