How do you pick the perfect bouquet? I'm sure you would like someone to give you the magical recipe that will make your vision a reality. You are a bride that has done your homework. You have purchased every magazine available. You have been on every website that you could possibly be linked to. You've asked friends, attended other weddings and you still have no clue.
My job as a florist is to ask you some key questions and give you some things to think about. Just what you need, something more to think about!
Your ceremony site and reception venue will have some influence on the type, style and theme of your wedding. The design of your wedding dress and the color of your attendant's dresses will definitely influence the colors you select for your bouquet.
There are many styles of bouquets to select from. Some of the popular styles are a traditional cascade, an all around clutch, an arm bouquet, a presentation style, and an armature bouquet. Try out your florist's samples in front of a mirror. You should feel comfortable carrying the style of bouquet you select. To make your final selection, you'll need to ask yourself a few questions. Do you prefer an all white bouquet or some color? Do you lean more towards pastels or are bright and bold colors more your style? Do you want a mix of flowers or do you prefer to carry just one type of flower? Maybe you have a favorite flower you would like to incorporate into your bouquet.
Does different or unique appeal to you? There are so many embellishments that can be incorporated into today's bouquets to carry out your theme or season. Ribbons, beads, feathers, seashells, rhinestones, leaves, pine cones etc., the sky is the limit!
It is your day and your decision. Limit the people you take to your floral consultation. Don't let anyone talk you in to something because they like it! Whatever your dream is, by selecting flowers you like and incorporating them into a style you like, you will love your flowers on your wedding day.
You have the key that will unlock the treasure chest of answers. Your florist will work all of your ideas into a budget that will fit your needs. There are so many options open to you. It is your wedding. Anything goes!
Our job, as a florist, is to ask you all the right questions, put together all of your answers and make your wedding day a dream come true.
