This Indianapolis Vineyard Wedding is Simply Stunning: The Real Wedding of Marion and Grant Melcher

Marion and Grant met at a concert, and hit it off as they danced the night away! Marion gushes, “He kept me on my toes that night, but just as the band was finishing up, he asked for my number!” After a few years of dating, Grant surprised Marion with a swoon-worthy beach proposal in the Dominican Republic!

Marion didn’t have any idea of what she wanted her wedding to be prior to planning it. Her top two inspirations were what she found on Instagram and Pinterest--including the inspiration for her dress! “I just started pinning everything that I liked to a board and then looked at them to see what style, shape and fabric I seemed to be drawn to the most. This narrowed it down quite a bit and gave me some direction when I started shopping,” she says. 

What we love

We love a good D.I.Y. gift from Dad! Marion explains, “My dad built a beautiful structure made of old doors and windows as an entrance to my older sister’s outdoor wedding a few years ago. We ended up reusing these doors as well as an arbor that my dad built for our ceremony backdrop.”

Advice from the couple

Marion urges recently engaged couples to narrow down their must-haves for their ceremony first, then go from there. “There are so many options throughout the planning process, it is easy to get overwhelmed and lose sight of the big picture,” she says. “It will be the absolute best day ever no matter what you choose.”
