Lauren and Brandon first hit it off at a country-themed bar in Indianapolis. Brandon bought Lauren a drink and made her laugh all through the night. Once they started dating, they knew they had something special! Wanting to keep things sentimental, Brandon got down on one knee at the church that Lauren’s parents got married in 40 years ago.
“I like to refer to my dress as ‘my best friend I only got to hang out with once,’” Lauren jokes. “I am so in love with my dress.” We love the way this gown pairs well with Lauren's gorgeous hair and natural makeup, done by Something Blue Stylists!
Lauren gave herself a month to enjoy her engagement before diving into the planning process. “I wish I could say I had it all planned out before, but I think that was more of my mom than me,’ she says. “I have been to so many weddings throughout the years, I knew more of what I didn’t want versus what I actually wanted.” Relying heavily on reviews, Lauren and Brandon picked the best vendors to make their wedding vision a reality!
What we love
Lauren made her centerpieces a priority, displaying etched pedestal glass pieces on every table. “It took us over eleven months, but we bought all of our glassware from Goodwill and second-hand stores around Indiana,” Lauren notes. “It was completely worth it! Everyone loved our centerpieces and I loved having colored glassware at our head table to add some contrast.”
Advice from the couple
By getting a lot of the planning out of the way early, Lauren could focus on the next steps in her relationship with Brandon. She explains, “After the planning was finished, I wanted to focus on the wife I wanted to be for my future husband after the big day was over. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the details of the big day but it’s the bond and commitment you’re making that day that is the most important.”
