You’ve found your person, and you don’t want to wait--you’re ready to be married! Perhaps your original venue fell through and you need to find the perfect place in a rush. Maybe your priority is to ensure a unique, memorable weekend experience for your wedding guests. Whatever the motivation for your wedding planning, Lake Max Meadows in Culver, Indiana, has you covered, especially if you’re working with a shortened timeline.
Home to the prestigious Culver Academies on the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver is a Midwest gem. The historic small town has perfected lake life, and features lodging and shops to create a dream staycation destination. Lake Max Meadows is a new, all-inclusive wedding venue three and a half miles from the Academies. Owners Ed and Becky Furry, who had their own wedding on site, renovated the barns and brought in additional amenities like accessible bathrooms, a gorgeous deck overlooking the farmland, and an AirBnB on site for the bridal party or newlyweds.
How can Lake Max Meadows help you execute your wedding in record time? In August 2018, Ed and Becky, along with generous local vendors, planned a stunning wedding for couple Lyndsey and Brian Jinks in three months. The ceremony was held on the beautiful grounds, and the reception took place in The Blue Boat Barn, a space that can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests. The couple stayed in The Big Red Barn which houses Lake Max Loft Air BnB, a newly renovated industrial-meets-farmhouse space (think Joanna Gaines with a hint of nautical, a nod to the Furrys’ love for sailing).
Bringing in local vendors made wedding planning easy--and fast. Lake Max Meadows worked with vendors like The Garden by Liz for florals, Fernbaugh’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, Rozzi’s Catering and Lakehouse Grille for food, Sallie’s by the Shore for a Italian ice cream cart, and Culver Coffee Company for late night snacks and farewell brunch treats. The Jinks’ wedding also catered to the younger crowd; Main Street Studios set up kids’ tables with coloring activities that were a huge hit! Clearly Culver has plenty of smalltown charm to accentuate your big day.
“For us, the next few months are actually a very quiet time in the area,” says Becky. “It's a big summer community, but once kids go back to school, the town goes back to a small quaint town and it's absolutely beautiful August - October.” Because Lake Max Meadows is a newer venue, it has more availability for last minute planning/weddings than more established venues that book years in advance. 2019 and 2020 dates remain!
Lake Max Meadows puts you within two hours of both Indianapolis and Chicago, but you’ll feel miles away. Imagine Dora, the resident donkey, quietly grazing in the field beyond the deck beneath endless skies--it’s a pocket of paradise in a small Indiana town. If you are looking for your perfect spot to tie the knot, consider Lake Max Meadows.
