Lavender Luxe: A Dreamy, Spring-Inspired Style Shoot in Indianapolis

While winter may bring snow and chill, for photographer Meghan Pyle of Meghan Alyssa Photography, it brought something entirely unexpected—a burst of springtime in full lavender bloom. With a clear vision in mind and a heart full of pastel dreams, Meghan created a shoot that brought warmth, color and creativity to a cold season. Meghan exclaims, “I wanted to host a shoot that still expressed the beauty of spring florals, even in the midst of winter. Lavender is one of my favorite colors personally, so I was excited to create all the fun lavender details!”

Held at BASH, a centrally located venue known for its expansive windows and airy, white interior, the space couldn’t have been a better match. “This location was PERFECT for our vision,” Meghan gushes. “BASH had just the right amount of space, combined with windows all across the venue that made for fabulous lighting. The staff were so sweet and accommodating—they helped us fine-tune every detail!” We love the blank slate feel of the venue that allows for any wedding theme to pop!

The florals tied everything together, combining lavender tones with rich purples and seasonal blooms. Winter-friendly selections like roses and delphiniums helped keep the arrangements fresh, while staying true to the vision. “We wanted to choose something we hadn’t seen done before,” Meghan says of the color palette—and the florals followed suit.
 

The fashion choices pushed boundaries in all the right ways. One gown featured classic bridal elegance, while the second, a lavender-colored dress, was a standout piece. “Colored wedding gowns aren't seen as often, so we wanted to incorporate that into our editorial,” Meghan explains. The result? A dreamy mix of traditional and whimsical that beautifully echoed the shoot’s theme.

Hair and makeup were designed to complement the gowns and add even more lavender magic. One bride showcased a stylish high updo with lavender eyeshadow, while the other was styled with soft waves and classic makeup for a more timeless look.

The cake, created by Amanda of Mini Snack Confections, was nothing short of a showstopper. “The cake was INCREDIBLE!!” Meghan raves. “Amanda stayed right on theme and went above and beyond by adding silver elements and a clear cake layer—something unusual and stunning!”

No shoot is complete without the right rentals and décor, and Cheyenne of Nerdy Fox Rentals delivered in every way! “She absolutely went above and beyond for us!” Meghan says. “She helped us tweak our initial vision to perfection, lent a hand in setting up the shoot and even showed us how to fold napkins correctly! We couldn’t have done it without her.”
