The Vision
“Our vision for this shoot was a modern spin on the roaring twenties with Great Gatsby vibes,” Samantha Ham, Lead Planner/Designer at Simply Unforgettable Occasions shares. “The team at Simply Unforgettable Occasions spearheaded this idea and designed the overall concept with input from the other vendors involved on the team.” This talented group wanted to bring the 1920s to life with the bright pops of colors that were already a part of the venue—and they delivered!
THE VENUE
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn, Indiana was first built and opened in 1930, so the design was just what our team was looking for. “We wanted to complement the aesthetic of the venue and capture that era.” Samantha explains. “It still maintains its period-correct characteristics.” We think it was the perfect art deco style for this high-end shoot, and Heather Beckham Photography perfectly captured the shoot's beauty and all the vibrant colors of this venue!
The Looks
Our team could not have found a better dress for this cover shoot! As Samantha gushes, “The design of the dress fit the roaring '20s and Art Deco theme with geometric lines and sequins. We knew when we started the search for a dress that we wanted one that was glitzy and glamorous and paid homage to the 1920s.” The bridesmaid wore a brilliant purple gown and the hair and makeup styled by BÜK Weddings truly made the models feel like they stepped out of a 1920s party! And our groom and groomsman looked so dapper in their royal blue and burgundy suits from SuitShop.
The Decor
Since the linens provided by Simply Unforgettable Occasions were rich in color, the tablescape needed to include more neutral options to not overwhelm the scene. Rentals from AAYS Event Rentals brought together the elegant tablescape with stunning gold embellishments including the silverware, chargers and chairs. The team also included crystal tableware to heighten the glamour of the reception setup!
The Cake & Desserts
Gracey’s Goodies blew us away with a magnificent four-tiered cake and colorful macarons. Grace explains, “We really wanted to focus on the gunmetal, gold and emerald in our design.” We especially love the elegance of the marbled bottom tier and sequin-inspired top tier!
The Stationery
Using a jewel-toned color palette and gold accents, Lee Morgan Designs created paper products with a simple sophistication to match the venue.
The Florals
We're in love with these opulent tablescapes and richly colored floral arrangements! Urban Contessa Florals did a wonderful job of creating floral designs that meshed with the overall theme and matched the glamour of the venue.
