The Vision

The vision for our fall/winter Detroit cover shoot was centered on creating an atmosphere of modern enchantment. Planner JaLeesa Samone of Christian Lei Events reimagined the idea of an enchanted garden through an elevated, contemporary lens—romantic, immersive and subtly unexpected. "In my heart, I was picturing a space that felt like stepping into a dream: lush, layered greenery, soft light and an atmosphere that felt intimate and transportive," she shares. The result had us feeling like we were stepping into a secret garden straight out of a dream!

The Venue

The Rust Belt Market set the perfect stage for our shoot with its industrial-chic aesthetic and truly one-of-a-kind atmosphere. What made the space especially compelling was the contrast it allowed the design team to create. "By introducing soft draping, lush greenery and warm lighting into an otherwise urban environment, we were able to transform the space into something unexpected and immersive," explains JaLeesa. The eclectic backdrop allowed the organic details to shine, resulting in a layered, romantic design that felt effortlessly modern. The market offers a uniquely interactive experience for real weddings, with cocktail hour unfolding while the market remains open so guests can shop and wander. One standout market vendor was The Plant House, where the iconic pink couch surrounded by greenery created a dreamy setting for portraits—beautifully captured by Cassie Nicole Photography & Design!

The Décor

The décor embraced a monochromatic palette of layered greens, accented with gold and balanced by soft whites for a look that felt fresh, romantic and timeless. A standout moment was the LED wall at the altar, blending technology and nature with a garden-inspired visual, while sheer white draping, greenery and fairy lights created a glowing, enchanted aisle. Thoughtfully curated tabletop details—glass chargers, crystal candle holders, green goblets and sage napkins—completed the immersive design, keeping guest experience front and center throughout the space!

The Florals

The florals designed by Tiffany of Pushin Petals Detroit leaned into an organic, garden-forward aesthetic, featuring soft whites and creams layered with an abundance of lush greenery. Greenery played a starring role throughout the design, especially in the ceremony space, where it was used generously along the aisleway to create a full, immersive pathway that felt both romantic and transportive. The florals helped blur the line between indoors and out, reinforcing the enchanted garden atmosphere while keeping the look elevated and refined!

The Looks

Our bride wore a timeless gown from The Wedding Shoppe that featured an effortless, flowing silhouette that moved beautifully through the space. Its understated elegance allowed the dress to blend seamlessly with the surrounding greenery and textures, making the bride feel like a natural extension of the environment rather than a separate focal point. She was styled in a romantic updo with striking makeup to accent her features, while the groom wore a green suit that perfectly complemented the monochromatic palette and lush, garden-inspired design!

The Stationery & Signage

The stationery by Singsolo Designs carried the enchanted garden vision through every paper detail. An all-white invitation suite featured elegant script typography paired with refined, nature-inspired graphics, setting a timeless and romantic tone. An intricate monogram anchored the design and was echoed on the welcome sign and menus for a cohesive look throughout the space, while the place cards were finished with gold wax seals for a touch of old-world elegance. A charming bar sign completed the collection, highlighting signature drinks named after the couple's dogs and adding a personalized (and adorable!) finish.

The Desserts

The dessert display was a sweet extension of the enchanted garden design. Eat Cravings Co. filled the table with an array of indulgent treats that echoed the shoot’s refined color palette, from chocolate-covered pretzels dipped in milk and white chocolate to shades of green and finished with a dusting of gold. Chocolate-covered strawberries added both elegance and playfulness—some styled as mini tuxedos, others adorned in soft greens, whites and golds—creating a dessert moment that felt thoughtful, cohesive and perfectly in tune with the romantic atmosphere of the day!
