When a new venue popped up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Stephanie Parshall of Stephanie Parshall Photography and Alyssa of Fleurology Designs knew they need to create a modern, offbeat shoot within its walls. The team says, “We were inspired by Venue3Two itself instead of a specific color palette because of the high space with its wooden beams on the ceiling brought the outside in by marrying the romantic outdoors with the formality of a wedding what we’re calling the wilderness of a wild romance in this conservatory ballroom.”

Venue3Two was originally built in the 1920s and offers features that cannot be offered in other venues. The team notes, “You can’t help but notice its grandeur but the real appeal is the large ballroom space that can hold up to 200 people. Its high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows brought so much natural lighting while still making you feel as though you were hidden away from the rest of the world.”

Events by iCandy provided the centerpiece of the shoot. Their sleek, minimalist pergola was eye-catching within the space. Gigi & Laclede Vintage Rentals supplied vintage tableware as a nod to the historic venue. The team adds, “Fleurology Designs used her own rentals to bring everything together for centerpieces and floral design. Each business was hand selected based on our theme and their own abilities to provide for their clients in a helpful and kind way.”

The dress for the shoot was a careful choice. The team wanted something that would fit with the historic venue, yet still give the bride a modern, graceful vibe. They note, “We chose the dress from Ali Nicole Bridal for its soft, lace overlay that incorporated floral elements and romance. Ali Nicole Bridal is one of our favorites to work with because of how they treat their brides so we were thrilled they wanted to be a part of this shoot!”
