This Modern Yet Classic Ceremony is Simply Elegant: The Real Wedding of Tori and Colin Singer

After connecting on Hinge, Tori and Colin clicked and began dating. After a few years, Colin decided to propose! Colin picked Tori's favorite winery—Modales in Fennville—to propose with a big display that included marquee letters and pillows! Of course, Tori was overjoyed to say 'yes'. Last year, they even modeled in our 2023 Spring/Summer Grand Rapids Digital Issue Cover Shoot, which was a great opportunity to see what goes into planning a wedding!
 

Without a clear idea in mind, Tori began dress shopping, knowing that she wanted to look as beautiful as possible. Tori was able to find the perfect dress that she had altered to better suit her. "It was stunning to begin with but I put new sleeves on it, altered it down
to my size and had a slit cut in it so I could twirl the night away," Tori gushes. We love all the floral designs on the corset bodice!
 

When it came to picking the theme for their wedding, Tori had a clear vision even before she met Colin. She loves both modern and classic, so Tori wanted a way to combine them both for her big day. The color scheme was also something that came easily for Tori because she knew she wanted her groom to wear a velvet hunter green jacket—and Colin agreed. Once she had that color, she added champagne/ivory and black for a classic look to their wedding. They also knew they wanted a winter wedding to be able to spend plenty of time with their loved ones and not have to fight as much to book vendors.
 

 

What We Love

Overall, Tori and Colin kept their wedding day simple. Tori shares, "We kept things simple because the venue was so stunning to begin with and we didn’t want to waste money on unneeded things. We put the seating chart in the program, used balloons for table decor and had all of our friends and family celebrate our marriage with us." And the vendors for their day were super easy to book since Tori either already knew she wanted them or had worked with them previously!

Tori and Colin advise, "Do whatever you want and don’t follow the trends/don’t let your vendors force you into anything you don’t
