This Northern Indiana Tent Wedding Brings D.I.Y. Magic to the Backyard: The Real Wedding of Alyssa and Nick Galvan

Alyssa first crossed paths with Nick while she was at a bar with mutual friends. Though they didn’t click right off the bat, the pair’s friendship slowly developed into something more. Nick knew Alyssa wanted to have a photoshoot with their dog, so he surprised her during their session and dropped to one knee! 

Alyssa had second thoughts about her first gown after she bought it. “I actually started having bad anxiety and even had a few nightmares,” she admits. “Not because I thought the dress was ugly, but because it just didn’t flow with the mood of our wedding.” Discovering a new designer on Instagram, Alyssa tracked the bridal stores near her to find where the designer was sold. Soon after, she said 'yes' to her dream dress! 

Alyssa's gorgeous look was completed by the talents of makeup artist True Beauty by Dana.

What we love

The couple’s dog, Lincoln, stole the show as he walked down the aisle wearing an adorable flower collar. He was also the namesake for the couple’s signature cocktail, “The Lincoln”!

Wanting to add his own woodworking spin to their big day, Nick built the couple’s sweetheart table, coffee table, donut cart and arrow sign. D.I.Y. pieces are the perfect personal touch to a wedding! 

Advice from the couple

Alyssa urges couples not to stress if it rains. She notes, “If it rains, just laugh it off. Being mad isn’t going to make the rain stop, it’s only going to make you miss out on the best day of your life.”
