After meeting through mutual friends in college, Abbie and Ethan discovered they liked each other and wanted to spend more time together. They learned that they meshed well, and Ethan proposed to Abbie after the short hike up Sugarloaf Mountain in Marquette, Michigan. With the stunning views in front of her and Ethan down on one knee, of course Abbie's answer was 'yes!'
Ethan designed the ring all by himself. We think he did amazing! The silver, gem-encrusted band looks absolutely stunning around the square cut diamond. It also looks great with the wardrobe Abbie and Ethan decided to wear. "We did one dressy outfit and one casual outfit and tried to stick with light and airy colors or neutrals. If one person was wearing a color or pattern, the other wore something neutral to coordinate," Abbie explains. They look so cute as a couple!
Since they met at Northern Michigan University—located in the upper peninsula of Michigan—they wanted to find a locale that emulated the natural beauty of the upper peninsula. Once they found their ideal spot, they started looking for photographers to take their engagement session photos. The one they ended up going with, Captured by Kelsey, actually reached out to them and suggested a Zoom call to get to know them a little better. They decided they meshed well and that Kelsey's photography style was one that they adored!
Having originally set their sights on an outdoor wedding, Abbie and Ethan visited Chelsea Train Depot and loved the spot for a smaller, indoor ceremony. So, they changed their vision and started planning for an intimate, indoor celebration instead. With about five months to go, Abbie and Ethan have ironed out almost every detail, which Abbie is grateful for as it has been a lot of planning.
