An Opulent Celebration of Love: WeddingDay’s Exclusive Southwest Michigan Cover Shoot

The Vision

Our creative team collaborated to bring some modern elegance into this timeless shoot. “For the style shoot, I wanted to incorporate classic, elegant pieces and materials that we have seen withstand time when it comes to wedding trends and styles,” explains Brittany Chesney of 1945 Event Co. Inspired by French garden flair, this shoot came together just as Brittany and our incredibly talented team imagined it would!

The Venue

Detailing is what led our team to select The Grand LV as the perfect venue for our Southwest Michigan Spring/Summer 2022 digital cover shoot. With vintage details inside and out, it was the best locale to shoot a timeless shoot! The crisp white walls inside the venue were ideal blank canvases for our team to style and they allowed the elegance in our shoot to take center stage.

The Looks

Some of the timeless pieces that never go out of style are long trains and dramatic veils, so Brittany wanted to incorporate these looks into our shoot. She shares, “The dress had a timeless touch of vintage elegance to it that went perfect with the look—lots of fabric, long train, form fitting.” The modernity of the gown's sweetheart neckline perfectly accented the chic updo from Blushing Beauty & Co. as well as her romantic makeup by True Beauty by Dana. The groom was the definition of timeless, sporting a classic black tuxedo from SuitShop.

The Decor

Megan Judith Photography beautifully captured all the opulence and golden embellishments throughout the shoot flawlessly. We love how they pop out of the photos against the clean white background! And that tablescape is fit for tea with the queen thanks to the glass details, pearl elements and glamorous candles! And the gorgeous florals from Gardenground Floral tie the entire look together! The addition of Bubbly LaBlu, a mobile tap truck, upped the elegance of our shoot with a stylish and trendy champagne bar!

The Stationery

Classic, elegant paper products designed by Your Little Details tied all of the elements in the shoot together. She nailed the vision of making the state of Michigan into an oyster shell on the invitation suite, complete with a pearl in Southwest Michigan, where our shoot took place!

The Cake

We can’t get enough of this cake! Tenia from Sweet T’s Cakes and Confections knew the edible pearls were exactly what this dessert needed to match the opulent style of the shoot. We love the bits of gold and blush detailing in the center of the heart and in the stripes. And the addition of the florals only heightens the glamour of this cake and makes it unforgettable!
