This French-inspired style of Marie Antoinette: Viva la Fete had us dreaming of Paris, which is exactly what this talented team wanted. Cynthia Basker of Celebrated Events says, “When Grace Pulver and I first met to brainstorm ideas for the shoot, we were both very intrigued with what life must have been like at the Palace of Versailles just prior to the French Revolution. Our thought was to translate the excess of that time period into a modern wedding fit for the Queen of Versailles.”

What stuck out to us most about this shoot was the creativity used in incorporating the design into the entire space. From the delicate glassware to the perfectly placed candles, every inch of this outdoor garden space was fit for a queen! The Oliver Mansion at The History Museum is a historic venue, which fit perfectly into Celebrated Events’ elegant vision. Cynthia says, “The Oliver Mansion reminded me a bit of Le Petit Trianon, the chateau that was built on the grounds of Versailles as an escape for Marie Antoinette when palace life became overwhelming. The sunken gardens that adjoin the Oliver Mansion, although tiny in comparison to the gardens at Versailles, held similar aspects that we felt fit our vision.”

This inspired shoot had fine points of style in every bit of this décor, including the cake and china sets. “The cakes were hand-painted with washes of color,” the team notes. We love that the theme even extended to the bride’s dress, which was altered to have a custom collar that fit the theme of the time period. Talk about attention to detail!
