Break out your maps and get ready for your next road trip! You'll definitely want to check out this local Midwest city that was entered into our Best Midwest Wedding City 2020 Contest. Every delightful destination that was nominated brings its own down-home charm that you won't find anywhere else. And don't just take it from us! Read on to see why Alexandra and Christopher picked Three Oaks, Michigan to tie the knot.
How did you know Three Oaks was where you and Christopher wanted to tie the knot?
"My husband and I went to about fifteen different venues in three different states before we finally settled on Three Oaks, Michigan. I am from Northwest Indiana and my now-husband is from Illinois. Three Oaks is a small town in Michigan about 45 minutes from my home town. It was close enough to be accessible, but still had a 'destination feel.' We knew we wanted our wedding to be an intimate celebration with our friends and family and Three Oaks is where we found a venue that encompassed that."
Did you use any local features in your wedding?
"We had our wedding cake made by a woman from my church which was both delicious and personal for us. We also served local beers which gave our out-of-town guests a taste of nearby breweries."
What would you tell future couples who are looking to get married in Three Oaks?
"Embrace the charm the city already possesses. By embracing the local flare, there were so many unique and personal touches we were able to add to our wedding which made the day even more special."
What We Love
Alexandra and Christopher embraced the antique elegance their venue, 19 North, possessed by purchasing brass candlesticks from small, local shops and re-purposing them to use as table centerpieces!
