In a strange turn of events, Taylor and Cameron found out that they had been Internet friends for about four years before they met in a bar about six months before they started dating. To propose, Cameron took Taylor out to dinner for her birthday, where she expected a proposal to happen. When it didn't, they went home and Cameron promptly fell asleep. After doing schoolwork, Taylor woke Cameron up to tell him she was running out for snacks. At the door, Cameron told her, "Your outfit is missing something." She turned around to find him on one knee!
Even though Taylor knew what she wanted when she began wedding dress shopping, it took multiple attempts to find the dress of her dreams. "I spent a whole day trying on dresses with my mom, grandmas and my husband’s mom and grandma. I never found anything that spoke to me," Taylor shares. "Then, the one day I go look on my own, the stylists helping me immediately knew of a dress that fit the couple of things I wanted." We absolutely adore her A-line, lacy gown and her choice to wear a tiara, because every bride should feel like a princess on her wedding day!
Planning wasn't something that Taylor and Cameron took too intensely. "I just winged it mostly," Taylor admits. "We chose our colors because I could work through a bunch of colors in the palette while making everything match. I didn’t want monotone." They ended up landing on sage green and a dusty blue to help add dimension. We love that Becky Lynn Photography was able to capture all the colors beautifully and create stunning memories to last Taylor and Cameron a lifetime!
Other vendors came to Taylor and Cameron in a myriad of ways. Slowly but surely, they booked vendors through seeing thinks they liked, recommendations and bridal expos. They were glad for the bridal expos to be able to find plenty of local vendors to help support them on their big day. Another perk to the bridal expos was to have an opportunity to meet with their future vendors in person. When it comes to planning, Taylor and Cameron advise, "Do exactly what will makes you happy. Don’t try to please everyone."
What We Love
Like many couples, Taylor and Cameron incorporated special touches to their day. Taylor's special touch was the rings and necklace around her bouquet. Taylor gushes, "One ring was my something borrowed from Cameron’s grandma. The rest were given to me to keep by the women of my family. These turned out to be my first heirloom pieces." Cameron hand-picked boots and a watch that meant a lot to him for their wedding day.
