Tyler and Hope knew one another for 20 years before they got married. Tyler and Hope’s brother played on the same little league team and Hope remained friends with Tyler’s sister throughout their youth. Tyler and Hope would not start dating until much later. Hope says, “One summer in college, we played on the same sand volleyball team. We had so much fun that summer and when the season ended, we decided to continue hanging out, not knowing where it would lead!
Tyler and Hope soon fell in love and started planning the wedding of their dreams. Hope says, “We chose to do kind of a ‘rustic elegance’ theme and it ended up being beautiful! We also knew that we wanted to get married in a church, as our families are both religious.”
With that rustic theme in mind, Hope and Tyler set out to find the perfect venue. They landed on The Edgewater Hotel. “We loved the cocktail hour space with the giant fireplace,” says Hope. “The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake were also stunning and made the choice very easy!”
What we love
There were some very special touches to Hope and Tyler’s wedding. Hope says, “My something old was a handkerchief that was given to me by Tyler’s grandmother. It was given to her by her great-great-great grandmother, so it has definitely been in the family for a long time!”
