The Vision
"With this shoot, I wanted to embrace color and authenticity," Luvone Willis of Luvone's Beautiful Occasions shares. "I'm in love with printed linen, so that was my first decision with my design." She then incorporated plenty of florals and candlelight to create a romantic atmosphere. The result was a simple and refreshing yet elegant shoot that Heirlooms & Lace Studios captured beautifully!
The Venue
As Detroit's newest industrial event space, The Norwood was the perfect locale to host our fall/winter Detroit cover shoot. Originally a theatre from 1915 to 1949, this gorgeous space is full of character and history. We love the way the brick walls juxtaposed our soft color palette and lush blooms. One of our favorite aspects, though, is the downstairs bar and lounge, perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail or cozy late-night portraits!
THE DÉCOR
The shoot's décor was a stunning collaboration of talented vendors! Luvone's Beautiful Occasions provided the linens, dinner settings, charger plates and table numbers, setting the tone of this elegant shoot. The ceremony and reception chairs provided by Detroit Chiavari added a touch of sophistication. We were also thrilled to feature a beautiful flower wall from Fancy Flash Photo Booth that really tied the entire scene together! The venue's black backdrops and exposed brick walls were incorporated to showcase modern trends, including the printed linen, which added a fresh, elegant touch to the overall design.
The Look
The Wedding Shoppe provided two stunning gowns for our shoot. The ceremony dress was a strapless A-line gown with a deep V neckline and a subtle, all-over floral pattern that complemented the shoot's blooms. For the reception, our model wore a short, longsleeve lace gown with matching thigh-high boots that brought in the fun and flirty vibes. We are in love with this beauty look by BÜK Weddings! This talented team styled our model's hair in romantic vintage curls that framed her face, while her makeup was kept more neutral with bold lashes and a shimmery eye to add in the elegance.
The Cake & Desserts
The cake from Sweet Heather Anne kept in the simple yet elegant theme perfectly. This two-tiered confection is covered with a dainty gold outline of florals, tying in the color palette of blush and sage. We also incorporated mini strawberry champagne dessert shooters from Queet's Treats on all of the place settings. "A modern touch at weddings is to incorporate dessert or fruit into tablescapes, so this was a nice (and delicious) touch," Luvone raves.
The Florals
Flower Boutique Detroit designed our stunning florals in a palette of whites and pinks with plenty of greenery. The main bloom utilized in the arrangements were roses because of their romantic nature. We love how versatile this color palette is and that this style of flowers can work in any season!
The Stationery
The stationery suite designed by Singsolo Designs brought in the elegance of the shoot! We love the decorative corners and regal script font. The simple black and white color palette is enhanced by the raw-edge gold frame on the invite and the illustrations and wax seals elevate this design even more!
