Mary Barkocy of Turning Points Events and her friend were grabbing a quick coffee when they dreamed up the idea for the styled shoot. Mary says, “We both have a love for European, old world style and shared the desire to create a shoot based on that with a modern twist. We could picture a beautiful estate with a lush green background, a head table in front of the venue and a beautiful bride and groom. We pictured a color palette that accentuated all the best of spring while remaining classy and modern. Altogether, we really just wanted to create something together that was soft and romantic, yet modern and different.”

With this vision in mind, they set out to make it come true by first finding the venue. They decided on The Orrmont Estate. Mary says, “We chose The Orrmont Estate for this shoot because of its European charm and also the grand elegance of the mansion.” The Orrmont offers impeccable details that will surround you with an ethereal atmosphere.

When it came to the theme, they wanted to create something timeless and enchanting. “We believed that the choice of a dusty blue, blush and hints of purple were soft and romantic, yet still very much on trend,” says Mary.

To keep in line with that old world-style, they featured decor that was a nod to historic style. Mary adds, “We used antique china with a modern charger, again mixing the idea of old and new while still keeping it romantic.”

“The dress was the embodiment of our attempt to mold both modern and classic in a European fashion. The soft, delicate details of the dress brought in the classic, while the neckline and the color of the dress showcased the modern,” says Mary. “The bridal shop, LuxeRedux Bridal, presented us with a variety of options based on the vision board we sent to them and we instantly fell in love with the Hayley and believed it was the best choice.” This dress introduced a modern style with charming features that made it ideal for the shoot. The natural, soft hair and makeup was also the perfect touch.
