Dreaming of the days of elegant ballroom parties fit for nobility? Sandra of DreamBox Photography wanted to channel the energy of 17th and 18th-century paintings while adding a modern twist to their themes. This “Moment in Time” shoot focuses on European elegance and classic romance!

The team wanted to avoid creating a strong color palette, so they stuck with clean, neutral colors. “I decided I wanted to go with dried florals and wood flowers,” Sandra notes. “I kept the main focus on the roses while filling it up with pampas grass.”

Sandra explains how she was drawn to this Grand Rapids venue because of its rich history and architecture. She adds, “The detailed woodwork, historic stained glass windows, hand-painted murals and antique touches is a rare find these days, especially in newer venues.”

The two dresses used in this shoot have impressive lacework. We simply adore the first dress’s ruffled neckline detail and flowy tulle bottom! The team paired the second strapless dress with a Victorian-style high necked shirt for an added 17th century feel. Together with the bride’s sophisticated updo that gets let down into romantic curls, we’re swooning over this shoot!
