This Terre Haute Winery Wedding Has a Dash of Glitz and Glam: The Real Wedding of Julie and Mitch Ridgway

Julie and Mitch crossed paths when they worked together in the same student organization in college. After becoming fast friends, they knew they had found something special. Mitch popped the question after walking around their old college campus in Terre Haute, Indiana. Julie remembers that it was at least 100 degrees outside, but she couldn’t have been happier!

 

Not wasting a second of her planning time, Julie quickly attended a bridal sample sale to see what dresses were available. “I had a pretty strong thought about what I wanted,” she notes. “Once I put on the dress, I knew it was perfect! It had sparkle and the perfect silhouette.” 

 

There were two must-have’s that the couple wanted: to have their ceremony in Terre Haute, and incorporate Julie’s llamas into the design of the reception. From there, they went with vendor suggestions from their venue and their photographer, Courtney of Courtney Carney Photography. We love the way Courtney captured the sparkling glam of this special ceremony! 

 

 

What we love

Julie owns two llamas, and even though they couldn’t attend the ceremony, she wanted to feel their presence on her big day. “We took our engagement photos with them, and our cake topper is our name written in llamas. I even made our escort cards with my Cricut with shapes of llamas.”

 

 

 

Advice from the couple

Julie advises looking for a venue that cleans up after your reception. She adds, “The stress is much lower and your family can enjoy the day as much as you do. Also, eat during the reception! I didn't do much of that and regretted that later.”
