1. MONEY MATTERS
Establish your budget before you begin planning your wedding. This is the most essential element to establish in order to be effective in your wedding planning. Costs can easily spiral out of control, which can lead to stress and ultimately disappointment if you plunge into planning with no financial 'road map'.
2. PRIORITIES
Decide what are the top three elements you wish to give priority spending. Is it great photography, videography, amazing floral/decor or a fantastic band for your reception? Knowing this from the beginning, you can allocate a bit more money to these areas, and keep costs down on areas that are not quite as important to you. Make your budget work for you!
3. RESEARCH
When searching for vendors, do your homework! Hiring your vendors is like putting the pieces of a puzzle together, they must be the right 'fit' for you and for your wedding. Ask for client references, and check them! Ask to see images from their most recent events, inquire about their background, and length of time in business.
4. SATISFACTION
You absolutely get what you pay for when planning a wedding. Try to hire the very best your budget will allow. If the deal you are being offered sounds too good to be true, trust me, it is. Don't be disappointed!
5. WEDDINGS, AS IN LIFE, HAPPEN
On your wedding day, let go, and just be a bride. Be fully in the moment, every moment of that day. Life isn't perfect, and weddings rarely are either. Don't let the day be ruined by minor mishaps or mistakes. You'll thank yourself later that you did not become that most feared of creatures, a Bridezilla!
