The Vision

Modern industry and an alluring touch of whimsy collide to make our Chicago cover shoot a must-see. Rupal Patel, owner of Chicago wedding planning company Malenia Events & Design, wanted to incorporate the glamorous parts of a wedding while keeping the celebration rooted in bohemian style. “We wanted to use Classic Blue, the Pantone Color of the Year, in a less traditional way,” Rupal says. Overflowing florals, eye-catching pops of blue and texturized tablescapes make this your urban city escape. The Venue

Stretching 203 feet tall above the city, The Robey Chicago’s skyline view is breathtaking. This artisan hotel’s sleek style and rich history brings an air of industrial sophistication to this shoot. With original exposed surfaces, polished floors and tall ceilings, The Robey’s open concept was perfect for this modern shoot. “The windows of the venue were our hidden gem,” says Rupal.

The Look

The team wanted the model’s dress to draw on traditional bridal glam. This Genevieve’s Bridal Couture gown is a gorgeous, trendy piece while staying true to the traditional style. “We wanted the makeup to look as natural as possible,” says Rupal. Styled by True Beauty by Dana, the model’s organic beauty shines through this soft look. The sophistication of the bride’s Hollywood style curls, done by Daniela Kosta Beauty, are on point for this modern look. The Florals

These lavish floral arrangements thrive with strong yet delicate beauty. Chicago florist Bloome effortlessly tied in the Classic Blue color palette with hints of mauve and dusty blue in each of the blooms. The wild, overflowing arch adds a trendy botanic touch to this cityscape style.

The DÉcor

This reception is golden—literally! Mirrored gold oval table and gold chairs with Classic Blue velvet cushions, provided by Chicago rental company Platinum Affairs Rentals, tie in modern aesthetics to this tablescape.
