Ceremony & Reception Location
AMOUR DE MA VIE
Sabrina headed into her New York City interview with a mission: to land her dream job. Danny, as the employer, approached the meeting simply as an assessment of Sabrina’s qualifications and to solidify a promising hire. It wasn’t long into the interview that Danny established Sabrina met the professional criteria and began to strongly consider her in relation to his own “criteria.” Conversation turned to personal interests and, coincidentally, a mutual love of Ohio State football and Buckeye pride spurred on Danny’s growing interest. Just after the interview wrapped up, Danny called his best friend to share the news, “I just met my future wife!”
A Oui! Jet'aime
Following the serendipitous interview, a job offer, impromptu trip to Columbus to watch an Ohio State football game together, and the beginning of a lasting relationship ensued. Danny was right from the start; Sabrina was the one!
The story was shared that Sabrina’s mother found out she was pregnant (with Sabrina) in Paris as she stood in front of the Venus de Milo statue in the Louvre museum. Since that time, France has continued to be an incredibly special place for Sabrina and her family. With an engagement in his sights, Danny knew this would be the perfect location to pop the question. He explains, “We scheduled our winter vacation to Versailles and Paris. The first night we stayed in the Trianon Palace at Versailles, and upon arrival we got a couples massage followed by dinner. When we returned to our room, we ordered champagne and dessert…and I proposed right there!”
Un Canape
Following Sabrina’s “yes!” the couple dove into wedding planning. From law school graduation to state bar exam studying to moving from Ohio to NYC, Sabrina states, “Fitting in tastings, proofing invitations and programs, and finalizing décor had to be an extremely organized process!”
One thing that came easily, thankfully, was the couple’s inspiration. The couple shares, “It sounds odd, but our theme came from a couch.” But not just any couch, of course.
Sabrina explains, “We got engaged in Versailles, but traveled to Paris shortly after for some touring. While walking around the city one night, I spotted a couch made by Chanel with thick black and crème vertical stripes. I fell in love with that pattern and our theme was centered around it.”
Naturally, the couch lent itself perfectly to Sabrina and Danny’s beloved Parisian influence and their wedding proved “French” and “romantic” are completely interchangeable.
