Teresha and Alex met in law school. It was not until a year after they met that Alex asked Teresha out, and she did not say “yes” until he asked more than once. They were truly playing a game of hard to get. But, in the end, they were meant to be and knew it as soon as they went on their first date. Teresha says, “We had such a great time and I laughed harder than I ever had before in my life (seriously). He continued to pursue me and nearly seven years later, we are headed to the altar. This is the true law and love story and I was super excited to marry my best friend.”
Alex had planned one of the most memorable proposals of all time. Teresha and Alex were in New York over the 4th of July holiday and Alex was going to propose on a rooftop overlooking the Hudson River as the fireworks were going off. However, plans changed and the couple had to head back to their hotel room early. Teresha adds, “We headed back to our hotel. Alex ordered room service while I was in my pjs and bonnet (yes, that’s right, my bonnet–and I have the video to prove it) enjoying my dinner. During our meal, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. The moment was perfect and authentic. I will treasure this moment forever.”
After a magical proposal, the couple starting planning their unforgettable day. Teresha says, “I love classic and timeless events, but I also love glam. Combining those two requires a special balance.” Luckily, classical taste met modern style perfectly in this wedding, starting with the venue choice of the Ritz Charles.
Teresha found her dress while looking for bridesmaids’ dresses. She visited The Wedding Studio in Caramel, Indiana. She says, “My dress is literally a dream come true. When I walked in, I instantly felt at home. I fell in love with the Essence of Australia line and Martina Liana has trains and veils that are simple, elegant and classic.”
What we love
We love that Teresha and Alex set out to create a truly memorable atmosphere for their guests. The decor was simplistic and high-end at the same time curating the ultra-fad and ethereal feeling of the wedding. Teresha adds, “The menus, signage, chairs and ice sculpture all came together to make a classic and timeless design. I wanted my guests to feel like they were walking through a garden, so I wanted my décor to match the glass pavilion-style and still create a classic affair.”
Advice from the bride
Teresha says, “My advice to future brides would be to enjoy the ride (every single bit of it) because it goes by so fast and you will cherish all of the moments leading up to your big day and your wedding day.”
