Emerald Acres Wedding Barn sounds just like the secret gem that it actually is. Located just north of Indianapolis, the 125-year barn was the perfect setting for the "organic elegance"-themed style shoot that Brooke Tichenor of savoir faire events was envisioning. The quiet countryside that surrounds the historic barn is what Brooke describes as both romantic and majestic. The style concept she was after was organic, yet elegant. "We wanted to showcase the natural beauty of the barn and the lovely surrounding landscapes; the 'elegance' component was incorporated using charming decorative accents (glowing white lanterns), vintage pieces (teal blue settee), and soft, lush flowers to enhance the authentic beauty of the venue," says Brooke.

The stylized shoot that developed from Brooke's initial vision was a playful take on a wedding in a rustic setting using blends of a soft pastel color palette.

Emerald Acres was selected as the focal point and venue due to its simple versatility and flexibility. Its vast surroundings and simplicity were the blank canvas in which Brooke centered her inspiration around. "Even without all of the embellishments—the pretty decor, flowers and props—the venue and setting is inherently enchanting and romantic so I knew it would provide the centerpiece to the look and feel of the shoot," says Brooke.

Drawing from the barn's organic nature, Cathy of cs accoutrements designed a floral scheme that was classic but allowed room for unexpected touches (see the pops of red amaranthus in the bridal bouquet!). She used a design that incorporated a blend of garden roses, snap dragons, lisianthus, red amaranthus and lush greenery.

All of the vendors took the soft colors using pale pinks, peaches and hints of rich pink and put their personal spin on it from the stationery from Westwood Paper Company to the bride's makeup from Stacey Mayo. Even the bride's wedding gown from MH Pomanders bridal salon strayed away from the traditional white or ivory colors and instead shined with blush tones. In fact, that Ivy & Aster a-line dress had yards and yards of pale pink tulle!

The decor blueprint was a collaboration between cs accoutrements, Violet Vintage and Emerald Acres. Emerald Acres actually has furniture, decor, and props on site for couples to use. Violet Vintage contributed gold flatware, vintage cake servers, antique mirrors and other miscellaneous items. Other accents like white lanterns, candles and glass baubles were lent from cs accoutrements.
