Summer Citrus: The Real Wedding of Olivia & Jacob Walters in Kentwood, Michigan

When it came time to plan their wedding, Olivia knew her celebration with Jacob would be anything but ordinary. “If you know me, you know I LOVE color, and I love to stand out,” she shares. Her vision for a vibrant summer wedding began with the bridesmaids' dresses, featuring plenty of pink accented by cheerful pops of orange and yellow to capture the essence of a bright, citrus-inspired celebration. From there, every design element—from the florals to the décor—naturally fell into place. To bring their vision to life, the couple chose a venue with ample indoor and outdoor space, allowing them to host every part of their wedding day—from getting ready to the reception—without ever leaving the property. We love how the colorful florals and décor were thoughtfully balanced throughout the venue, while natural touches like rattan accents on the tablescapes complemented the warm hardwood floors. The result is a space that feels lively, joyful and overflowing with personality!

 

What We Love

Just as they embraced a vibrant color palette, Olivia and Jake filled their wedding day with playful, memorable touches. Their six-month-old nephew stole the show as the ring bearer, making his way down the aisle in a remote-controlled car and delighting guests with his grand entrance. During cocktail hour, loved ones enjoyed having their portraits sketched by a caricature artist, while the courtyard came alive throughout the reception with friendly games of giant chess and cornhole!
