the VISION
Creating a modern-yet-elegant stylized wedding was the objective of this cover shoot, held at Le Meridien in downtown Indianapolis. Brooke Tichenor, the planner at savoir faire events, was tasked with pulling together a cover shoot that leaned toward contemporary styles while maintaining a classic and sophisticated feel. The venue was the first component Brooke secured and the boutique hotel set the tone for the remaining details including the autumn-colored shades that were used throughout.
the venue
Words like “metropolitan” and “chic” were swirling around in the minds of the vendors, and they knew Le Meridien would provide the desired atmosphere. “As soon as you walk into Le Meridien, you quickly notice its chic and modern style, and you instantly feel as if you are in a truly metropolitan venue—starting with the lobby with its unique gold arch, to the sitting area filled with gold décor, beautiful artwork, white brick walls, vibrant colors, and mid-century furniture,” says Brooke.
the floral
Adapting to the autumn theme, florist Cathy Simmons of cs accoutrements brought in luscious tones of deep reds and bronzes, as well as accents of green, purple, burgundy and amber. She fused different textures in the arrangements including Black Pearl roses, Coffee Break roses and leucadendron in the bridal bouquet. Meanwhile, the ceremony and reception pieces included similar pieces with the addition of hydrangeas, bronze upright and red hanging amaranthus, snapdragons, mini calla lilies, purple panda orchids and royal purple cotinus leaves. These color tones paired with the variety of floral matched the rich accents throughout Le Meridien.
the DÉcor
The autumn-inspired colors were offset by peacock blue linens and napkins for the tablescape from LGi Linens. Tableware and decorative pieces from Z Gallerie completed the table settings with silver and glass chargers, plates and stemware, and geode napkins rings. The vendor team wanted to play off the mixed metals throughout the hotel with the decorative details in this shoot.
A magazine-worthy spread of hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie boards were provided by Spoke & Steele, accompanied by a display of designer desserts by Circle City Sweets. Z Gallerie provided gold-rimmed cake stands, gold and white votives, and tall candle holders for the table.
the hair & Makeup
Karen Hall & Co. in Fishers, Indiana provided the makeup products, application and hair styling for the model. The updo hairstyle was inspired by the 1940s era and was paired with soft, neutral makeup. Wispy lashes, a cherry blossom lip, and an airbrush opaque finish completed the exquisite wedding day look.
the Stationery
The stationery suite, designed by Blu3 Designs, borrowed creative inspiration from the marble and gold features throughout the venue. The marble-inspired stationery featured gold lettering, and the marble theme continued with actual stone and gold lettering for the escort cards, table numbers and decorative signage.
THE DRESS
The model donned a fitted, silk gown with lace sleeves and a barely-there train from LUXEredux Bridal.
