Golden Sage Romance: An Opulent Chicago Style Shoot

Inspired to combine the feel of a classic, romantic wedding with the modern luxe style, Cherita of Chic and Classy Events created a golden and sage wedding scene that combined the two. "The vision was to create an elevated yet inviting atmosphere filled with lush florals, layered textures, candlelight and intentional details that felt romantic, warm and refined," Cherita explains. 
 

The venue selected for this shoot was spacious with a blank slate appeal and had a slight lean toward the modern and clean aesthetic. This provided the perfect space for Cherita to bring in the more elegant and glamorous side of the shoot! One of the best places to bring the theme to life was in the tablescapes. Cherita shares, "The shoot incorporated luxury tableware rentals including gold reef chargers, coupe dinner plates, gold flatware, sage and gold goblets, candle holders and specialty glassware. These rentals elevated the tablescape design." All of the glass elements along with the golden touches brought this shoot together in an upscale style. Abundant florals with lots of texture in taller vases helped breathe an air of glamor into these tablescapes as well!
 

To incorporate more modern elements, Cherita opted for some unique décor items. Something that is both elegant and modern is the layered draping that acts as the backdrop to the sweetheart table. Another modern touch is the organic balloon displays throughout the shoot that blend beautifully with the marquee lettering around the dance floor in this space! We also love the green details that help ground the glitz of this shoot with more of that classic elegance that the team was looking for. All of the large signage displays around the venue also elevate the shoot flawlessly!
 

The idea behind the models' looks was to keep them elegant and timeless. The bride's dress is a classic A-line shape with lace appliqués that never go out of style while the groom is in a timeless black suit. "The bride’s look was designed to feel soft, polished and timeless," Cherita recalls. "Her hair was styled in an elegant braided updo that beautifully framed her face while complementing the romantic neckline of the gown." Her makeup was kept warm and simple to not overwhelm her natural beauty.
 

Desserts are another place where classic and modern meet! A large three-tiered cake was proudly on display.  The cake is simple and elegant with white and sage icing and small gold flakes throughout to make it a bit more glamorous! Dessert shooters were also included to bring in that modernity. A bar with signature cocktails also incorporated elegance and glamor with their gilded-age glasses!
