The Wedding Story of Lindsay and Ryan Haas: A Classic, Blue and White Indianapolis Wedding

Lindsay and Ryan met through work and began dating not long after. It was a little down the road when Ryan decided to propose. Lindsay says, “It was just the two of us. We were getting ready to take my dad and step-mom to the PGA golf tournament and I was (of course) running late, when he asked me to clean the bathroom before they arrived. I got annoyed, but little did I know it was just so he could be on one knee when I came back out to the living room. He proposed, I said 'yes' and he suggested we go outside to look at the ring in daylight. He invited my entire family and his whole family came from Colorado! We celebrated all weekend with the great plans he had ready for us! So perfect!”

After the proposal, Lindsay and Ryan started planning their dream wedding. Lindsay says, “We both immediately agreed we wanted a big, Catholic wedding – traditional, yet modern.” The couple first decided on their venue, The Biltwell Center. Lindsay exclaims, “We fell IN LOVE with The Biltwell when we first saw it! Industrial yet still romantic.”

Lindsay’s ease in planning the wedding continued. She even found her dream dress the first time she went to try on gowns. She explains, “I got it the first day I looked! I found it at The Wedding Studio in Carmel, Indiana. The designer was Stella McCartney. I instantly knew it was the one – I started crying and the whole deal. Then, I had to break out some dancing because I wanted to be sure I could move comfortably all night!”

What we love

We love that this couple's planning process was truly a joint effort. Lindsay says, “It was really a great process for us both! Ryan was so helpful – and that truly made all of the difference. We just promised ourselves that we would always remember what the day was really about and had fun with it.”

Advice from the bride

It is so important to focus in on what will make your wedding day special for you as a couple. For Lindsay and Ryan, that was having their family around them. Lindsay says, “All of our family and friends in one place really meant the absolute world to us.”
