The Luckiest
What do you get when you mix a really windy day at the beach with faux pink flamingos, about 125 people and Chuck Taylor shoes? For Sarah and David Otero, that blustery day was their wedding day.
THE RIGHT ONE
After meeting at a party and discovering they had “instant chemistry,” a serious relationship blossomed for the couple from Northwest Indiana. Two years later Sarah discovered she was pregnant. Soon after their son Clark was born, David proposed. “I was previously married when I was young and she wasn’t the right one,” David explained. “And I knew just after time being with Sarah that she was the one and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.”
A “SMALL” BRIDAL PARTY
Both David and Sarah laugh when they recall their 18-month-old son attempting to walk down the aisle. “He was giggling and basically ran the whole way. The thought of having groomsmen and bridesmaids seemed chaotic and we just wanted to say ‘This is us, as a family, standing together, being united as one,” said David.
FLAMINGO FRENZY
Sarah mentioned how much she loved flamingos to her good friend and wedding planner. She was delighted to see them pop up on their wedding stationary, cake and in a signature drink called the Pink Flamingo!
THE LUCKIEST
Sarah’s favorite moment was their first dance as husband and wife. As they swayed to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds Five, surrounded by their closest family and friends, the lyrics seemed to say it all.
