Emilee of Emilee Mae Photography had a vision for fresh, spring style. She says, "I had a vision of a rustic, modern styled shoot filled with natural components and materials. I pictured lots of greenery, neutral tones and textures and soft florals." She partnered with Shelby of The Day's Design to create this refreshing atmosphere full or romantic vibes.
They decided to shoot at Two Hats, a whitetail deer ranch in Michigan, that offers beautiful scenery. Emille adds, "The venue is surrounded by beautiful Michigan woods and wildlife. The design and architecture of the space have a Southwestern feel."
As for the shoot's dress, they knew they needed something equally as edgy as the shoot. So, they turned to Ali Nicole Bridal. "After trying multiple dresses, we opted for Rosie by Floral Bridal," says Emilee. "With a simple and elegant lace and dotted lace overlay, a simple beaded bodice and a slight boho yet refined feel with a scalloped edge."
The cake in this shoot, like many of the other details, was a nod to Southwest style. Emilee says, "Coco Renee created a simple, three-tier cake with a layer of concrete-inspired coloring, and two simple white layers styled on a large terracotta saucer sitting on a wood base and then resting on concrete pillars." It utilized the natural textures of the region for a completely renovated wedding cake style.
