This style shoot meshes together two popular trends and styles. Utilizing chic, down-to-earth boho style with botanical vibes, this styled shoot team accomplished a shoot that appeals to anyone’s heart. The team adds, “The vision of this shoot came from both the creative minds of Endless Light Photography and Mandala Events. Our goal was to create a shoot that highlighted the rich history in our town, while also showing contemporary wedding décor and photography styles.”
The team first needed to decide on the venue for the shoot. They needed a space that would match their ethereal theme. They say, “This venue was chosen for its history as well as its warm charm. Because of the lack of white space/walls within the space, the use of natural light from windows was important to this event.” The team definitely proved that historic venues are able to host modern visions!
Since this shoot was in Northern Michigan, it was important to these vendors that they mimic those natural, northern tones and hues. They note, “This color palette was selected to mimic the natural colors that are home to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. For example, iron ore, copper, lakes, etc.”
The bridal look in this shoot is simplistic yet elegant. Using a dress from Endless Light Photography’s rental collection, they were able to easily play into the overall vibe of the shoot. “It was selected for its simplicity in shape and traditional fabric,” they add. We love that they didn’t complicate the bridal look and made it accessible to any bride!
What is a Michigan style shoot without some nods to animal life? The team says, “The invitation was inspired by the décor within Barrel + Beam, particularly deer antlers. The invite included a custom illustration of a deer and graphic design items by Ink & Opal Co.”
Of course, we have to mention the cake! "The cake embodies the same homemade qualities of Barrel + Beam but with all the class of a contemporary wedding,” notes the team. “The flavors included blackberry and bourbon with a rich buttercream frosting.”
