Please tell us a little more about Nicholas J. Salon and Spa.

"Nicholas J. Salon and Spa is located in Eddy St. Commons directly across the street from the University of Notre Dame. We are an Aveda Concept salon specializing in all aspects of hair from cutting, coloring and balayage, who work with brides on their very special day. We opened our doors 14 years ago and have grown every year since. We have an apprentice program to ensure our stylists are confident and know every aspect of each service they provide."

What sets you apart from others? Why should a bride choose you?

"We have served 70-80 brides each year for at least the last 10 years and we are certainly proud of that. We often have the same families return with their other daughters when they marry and we take their trust seriously. We work with brides who are from out of town who may be having a destination wedding and getting married at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, to brides who bring their parties here for hair and makeup for the big day and end up being our regular guests."

Do you have anything exciting that you would like to share?

"In 2018, we won the South Bend Tribune's Reader's Choice Award for Best Local Hair Salon, and hopefully we will again in 2019, but the results are still pending. I was voted Best Hair Stylist from Leader Publications Best of the Best, and we also were voted Best Hair Salon from Leader Publications Best of the Best as well. We are always honored to do covers for Wedding Day Magazine.

Also, one of our Master Designers, Ally Pfifer, recently cut Mayor Pete's hair that was in the June issue of Vogue Magazine--yes, the real Vogue Magazine."

What inspires you to be in the wedding industry?

"Honestly, the days we work with brides are the most exciting days here in the salon! We find joy in helping to create the wedding look they have been dreaming of. This is the day they will remember the rest of their lives, and we love making them look and feel their best!"

What do you love most about working with couples?

"We love hearing from our brides all about their dreams of what they hope to look like on their special day. We listen to them and blend the style they are dreaming of with creative updos or special occasion hair that will help them to achieve perfection! Our make up artists can create looks from a natural glow to Hollywood Glam that lasts the entire day!"
